Description: Acoustic Guitar - !!! 1971 Yamaha GC-10 (Brazilian, Signed Hideyuki Ezaki) !!!
I have a vintage Yamaha GC-10 built in 1971. The sides/back are perfectly bookmatch quartersawn brazilian rosewood (with spider webbing). The top is a very tight grained Ezo spruce (or what the Japanese call Silver Pine Fir...a native Bonsai tree in Japan). The GC-10 is a handmade guitar which came out of Yamaha's custom shop in Hamamatsu, Japan. It was the top model at the time and a forerunner to Yamaha's current GC-70/71 which retails for over $12,000. Best of all, this particular guitar was made and signed by Hideyuki Ezaki (one of Japan's current top luthiers).
There are only a couple notable issues with this otherwise perfect guitar. There are two very tight stress lines on the top (one along each side of the fretboard). This is very common and has been professional braced and stabilized. And, there is one small spot on the lacquer finish that has been drop filled (but, it hasn't been buffed out yet). This spot is located on the side near the waist.
Please note that this guitar has a 660mm scale...
