Description: Acoustic Guitar - 1972 Guillermo Del Pilar Classical
Built in 1972 and signed, numbered and dated by the luthier (on the underside of the soundboard).
Spruce top that has acquired a rich, honey patina, has some interesting figuring that looks more like birds-eye than bear-claw.
Back and sides I believe are bubinga, with very straight-grained back and highly figured sides.
Five fan bracing.
Has Del Pilar's trademark Minaret style headstock with overlay on face and back. Original tuning machines from germany in 40mm spacing.
Guitar is finished in shellac french polish.
Very good to excellent condition with typical play wear but no signs of abuse. No cracks or history of repairs.
Great clarity and responsiveness.
This guitar is number five hundred and something (I forget) out of approximately 900 instruments built by Del Pillar during his lifetime as a luthier.
