When it comes to hand crafting quality classical guitars Kevin Aram is one of the very best today. Kevin’s reputation as a guitar maker surpasses him and his guitars are in high demand.
‘Kira’ is a beautiful guitar which is well balanced, beautiful deep bass and trebles which sing sweetly. The sustain on her is just wonderful and the overall projection and volume will suit any concert hall.
Master Luthier Kevin Aram is one of England’s finest and he is undisputedly one of the world’s most respected and reputable guitar makers in the world, who is still crafting today.
Working tirelessly over the past 35 years from his small workshop (Kevin moved to the Devon workshop in 1991) Kevin has had the wonderful opportunity, especially during his first decade, to repair and restore some of finest guitars in the world, such as: Ignacio Fleta, Arcangle Fernandez, Jose Romanillos and many others.
During this early “repair & restore” stage Kevin Aram was able to catologue and use his knowledge and experience from his investigations into these historic instruments, to assist him on his quest to produce the very best high quality concert classical guitars - and this he has done. Building over 300 guitars since beginning his career, each by hand, Kevin has now firmly established himself as a luthier who produces some of the very best instruments to behold.
As with all experienced luthiers, Kevin will only use seasoned, very mature fine woods for his guitars.
Kevin is so meticulous in his work that he designs and makes each rosette individually by hand - so no two rosettes are the same.
Kevin has built guitars for many of the world’s leading professionals such as Pepe Martinez, Juan Martin, Carlos Bonell, Eleftheria Kotzia and many others. But is known to be fact that one of Kevin’s most prestigious customers is Julian Bream.
Kevin makes guitars which are known of course for their playability, tone, balance, projection...but once you see his guitars you will immediately be aware of the aesthetic beauty of each guitar he makes.
Kevin’s guitars are in such demand that their is always a lengthy wait for a new build.
