The guitar has a big concert voice with excellent projection, sustain and balance throughout the register. Gropius, himself a fine musician, has created a very responsive and playable instrument. The low profile neck, shallow heel, gently raised fretboard and larger fretwire combine to make easier work of challenging pieces. The sound to my ear is a rich clear cedar tone, not overly lush or reverberant, with deep basses and clear, lyrical trebles with enough edge to cut through in ensemble settings.
The guitar is in excellent used condition with minor signs of wear on the french polish.
