Description: Acoustic Guitar - 2003 Flamenco Blanca - Shelton-Farretta
Flamenco Blanca Guitar - Shelton Farretta Flamenco guitar w/case for sale. Custom made by
Shelton-Farretta in 2003 in excellent condition. It's
practically brand new and is immaculate.
Shelton-Farretta is a husband and wife team who have been making classical and flamenco guitars in Portland, for over 30 years. John Shelton, a former professional guitar player and Susan Farretta, both a flamenco dancer and guitarist herself, are the perfect team to understand what it takes to make a flamenco guitar. This guitar is a flamenco blanca and has Spanish Cypress back and sides. The top is European spruce and the head has traditional ebony tuning pegs. These ebony pegs are custom made per John's
specifications and are not available anywhere else. The heads of the pegs are large to ensure that you can turn the pegs with ease. Shelton-Farretta's guitars are light weight and this one is no exception. This provides for ease in playing flamenco should you play in the traditional flamenco style, but it's just as easy to play should you hold it like Paco de Lucia.
Most importantly the guitar has that woody sound which is so much sought after in a flamenco guitar and playing rasgueados produces that nasty raspy sound which is so distinct in flamenco. The guitar does come with an Ameritage ($400 value). The case has a built-in humidity control system to help maintain the ideal level of humidity. If you're unfamiliar with Ameritage cases, they are built like a tank to ensure the guitar is protected when it's not being played.
If you order this guitar directly from Shelton-Farretta, it will cost you $2900 plus you'll need to wait 8 months. Save time & money. You will not
be disappointed. Contact me at stptng1 at yahoo.com.
