Description: Acoustic Guitar - Taylor 714-ce Acoustic-Electric Grand Auditorium
Welcome! I am selling a 2000 Taylor 714-ce. I am the original owner and have kept the guitar in a non-smoking environment its entire life. I am a church musician and have lovingly used this Taylor in churches from New York to Georgia. It has been a good companion for several years and has witnessed many changes in my life, including two in particular; my marriage and my first child. Both of which remain constant blessings, but require me to re-think the financial priorities of my life. So regrettably, it has to go now.
The pictures show that this instrument was built before Taylorís design changes several years back. This beauty has the abalone trim around the sound hole (much nicer, and more costly, than the koa trim now used.) The Western Red Cedar Top is starting to age nicely, and the graining of the Indian Rosewood back & sides is nothing short of breath-taking! The sound is mellow and exceptionally well-balanced whether finger-picking, flat-picking, or strumming. The Grand Auditorium body style combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Other features include a Mahogany neck, Ebony Fingerboard, Gold Plated Taylor Machine heads and Pearl Dot Fretboard Inlay. I need to point out that there is a small finish crack (about two inches) in the lower bout. It does not go into the wood, nor does it affect the tone in any way. The guitar also includes the Fishman Pre-fix blender, an absolutely fantastic electronics system that allows you to tailor (pardon the pun) your sound for any environment. The sale includes the increasingly in demand "pink-poodle" hard shell case which is no longer manufactured. Shipping in the lower 48 states is $50 + insurance. (Iíll provide tracking information of course.) You can avoid shipping by picking it up in Poughkeepsie, NY if you like. Feel free to send any questions. I can provide more pictures on request. This instrument is a stunner in both looks and sound, you will be thrilled and proud to own it!
