Description: Acoustic Guitar - CUSTOM DEAN EXOTICA ANDES ACOUSTIC ELECTRIC W/TAYLOR GIG BAG
Welcome! I am selling a like-new, near-mint Dean Exotica Andes. The pictures show just how striking this instrument really is. It is called ďAndesĒ because the top, back, and sides are made from brilliantly figured, Andean Rosewood. Looking at the pictures, you will note that the top and back are perfectly bookmatched. With the wood grain shifting from deep chocolate (almost black actually) to a bright crimson, I guarantee you will stand out when you bring it out of its case. This beauty has abalone trim around the sound hole, Grover tuners, a Mahogany Neck, a Rosewood Fingerboard, Multi-ply Binding (including full binding on the neck), and has 20 Frets (all of which can be reached thanks to the cutaway). The built-in digital tuner has a three-band equalizer and works as well as the day I bought it in 2003. The sound is exceptionally well-balanced whether fingerpicking, flat-picking, or strumming. The bass is solid but the treble and mid-range keep it from being overpowering. The Grand Auditorium body style combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Finally, what really makes this individual guitar stand out are the custom additions: In place of the factory plastic, I have installed ebony bridge pins and a hand-shaped bone saddle. I was absolutely stunned at the difference in tone these alterations made. Soundwise, it went from a $500 dollar sound to an attention-grabbing $2000 sound. (Iíve been playing more than 20 years and also have a Taylor 714-ce, so I can speak with some authority here.) Speaking of Taylors, the sale includes a used full-sized Taylor gig bag ($97.75 including shipping from the Taylor factory). Shipping in the lower 48 states is $50 + insurance. (Iíll provide tracking information of course.) You can avoid shipping by picking it up in Poughkeepsie, NY if you like. Feel free to send any questions. I can provide more pictures on request. I am the original owner and have kept the guitar in a non-smoking environment its entire life. I am a church musician and have lovingly used this instrument in churches from New York to Georgia. It has been a good companion for several years and has witnessed many changes in my life, including two in particular; my marriage and my first child. Both of which remain constant blessings, but require me to re-think the financial priorities of my life. So regrettably, it has to go now. This instrument is a stunner in both looks and sound, you will be thrilled and proud to own it! I can provide more pictures on request. Thanks for looking!
