Exceptionnal seven-stringed guitar by Olivier Fanton d'Andon, 1993.
European spruce soundboard. To avoid a too much lustrous sound, the body woods have been choosen deliberately different, violet wood for the back, birdseyed maple on the sides. The sound is thus different from the standard Rio or India rosewood guitar bodies, but warmer and more intimate .
This thoroughly original and unique guitar has been first intended to perform clavier transcriptions with its deep H extrabass, and the well-known "pianistic" homogeneity of color and dynamics that is the signature of the OFA guitars : four full octaves of warm, equal and powerful tones for a talented performer. But any repertoire feels rewarding on this instrument . It can be considered also as a masterpiece of collection that will increase its value with time .
At last, to dare a comparison, if Fleta calls for Steinway, this guitar would rather speak for B�sendorfer! Rodgers mechanics of course, and a unique model design for the greek-like rose .
Condition as new, for I turned myself to the lute since 10 years...
