Concert Guitar: Luthier Thomas W. Rodriguez, Richmond VA (2004)
Redwood Top, Bolivian Back and Sides with Hybrid Bracing resulting in a clear, bell like Tone with outstanding projection. Solid bass with rich overall harmonics. 650 mm. Ebony neck.
Truss rod embedded within neck (non adjustable) ensures action will remain the same throughout the life of the instrument. Construction principles used with violin and cello increase the strength of the neck/body joint and promote more vibrational energy throughout the instrument.
The instrument is perfect for a professional guitarist, a student entering College Music studies, a student already in a program that needs a guitar with more musical response, or an amateur or hobbyist that wants a quality Guitar with a unique sound.
After a performance of the Aranjuez concerto, a reviewer stated it was the best guitar sound he'd ever heard with an orchestra. The guitar didn't sound weak against the bowed strings of the orchestra.
Rodriguez, so excited by the "new" style guitar he had just completed, called me in the middle of a cross country trip asking me to play the guitar in my upcoming performances because he felt it was the most complete instrument he'd built at that time.
