I've owned two Bernabe Model 20s and several other high end classicals. This far and a way is amazing. Even when you play it loud the tone is very clean without buzz or muddy notes. This guitar can fill a 200 room auditorium. Huge voice, very refined balance tone throughout all registers. Classic Bernabe crystal clear trebles with powerful basses.
These guitars have amazing investment value, I sold a Model 20 of the same year not too long ago for about the same price as this one; the rosewood was not nearly as beautiful as this one (had a few knots in it, see pictures) and the sound was not as open or free, crisp and piano like that this one. The construction on this one is very very clean (even when compared to the other Bernabes 20s, 40s, 50s). When compared side by side with the other Model 20 the Brazilian Rosewood definitely of a higher quality, free of knots or other imperfections, a super rich red warm wood, and with this type figuring and clean grain you very rarely find. If you look at the below picture and then look around you will agree. It also has very nicely flamed top that has voice that explodes of the face. Signature Bernabe Green double special purflings. When I first saw this guitar it had this fine hairline crack (its barely noticeable, and is in a stable position where the guitar is naturally reinforced, it not moved in years), I was going to for another Bernabe, but I was so impressed with this guitar that I bought it even though it had a crack. Thats why I sold the other Bernabe Model 20 before I sold this one.
This guitar is hands down a rock star in the 5,000-10,000 range. It outplays a Ramirez 1a De Camara, a Sergei De Jonge, and the couple Bernabe's I've owned. As an experienced Bernabe owner, I would say you are hard pressed to hear the difference between this and Bernabe Concierto (which is a Indian Rosewood guitar). Its not until you get to the Imperial or Royal can you tell.
This guitar's actually a backup guitar, so its actually got very little play time. Its in New Old Stock condition, very mint, very clean guitar. Its has a little scuff on the lower right bout and the hairline crack, and thats it.
