For the ultimate in pre-war styling, the Golden Classic has a bound peghead, a 24 Karat solid gold "Deering" inlaid in the peghead, elegant high gloss finish, and traditional engraving on the gold metal parts.
The unique features of the Golden Series are the traditional neck shape which creates more sustain and the deeper resonator which provides that bright, gutsy tone. The hard, dense, colorful, exotic, and naturally beautiful Ebony fingerboard and the flamed Eastern maple of the neck and resonator are finished with a sunburst stain. The Maple rim is turned to traditional dimensions and fitted with a zinc flange. The original Deering 20-hole bronze tone-ring and the adjustable Deering tailpiece combined with careful attention to original dimensions, recreates the sound and performance traditionalists desire.
