Description: Bass Guitar - Rare Kawai F2B - The Poor Man's Alembic
This is one of the fabled Kawai basses that were imported by Kawai in the 80's. It's obvious where the styling came from but Kawai put their own quality touches to the bass. This is a zebrawood/maple body with maple and mahogany stringers. It's an active bass with two 18v dual coil pickups. Controls are tone and volume for each and 2 "Q" switches for various tones. This has the lightest colored rosewood fretboard I've ever seen. The bass is in near perfect condition. No belt rash or missing finish. There's a single small ding as the only damage on the bass. The dark mark you see on the up rear bout is a natural inclusion in the wood - one of the details that attracted me to this instrument when I bought it.
In the link the center instrument is identical to this one
Asking $550 with a hard gigbag. Will ship for same amount.
