Description: Bass Trombone - Vintage Boosey & Hawkes Bass Trombone
This is a 1940's satin silver plated bass trombone. There is lot of decorative engraving on the horn that makes it very attractive. It is also a great conversation piece because it is so unusual. The horn is pitched in "G". It comes with the original case and mouthpiece. The bell is engraved with "Artist's Perfection, L.P., Boosey & Hawkes Ltd. Makers, 295 Regent St. London, W.1, 154291". It has an extra long slide with handle for extra reach.
There are a few wear spots on the horn and there are a few very small dings on the horn. The inner slide tubes have some wear and the slide is a little stiff. Someone has lightly engraved "D.N.D. T626" on the bell. I think that D.N.D. stands for Department of National Defence. I bought this horn a few years ago from an antique store in Canada.
The horn is playable but will need some slide work if you plan to play it much. It is a great antique horn for any collection. The case is in excellent condition. Considering it's age, the horn is in pretty good shape.
I will pay shipping in the lower 48 states and am willing to give a try-out period if the proper arrangements can be made.
