For sale: Fox 240 serial# 21xxx

This instrument was made in 1994 and is 15 years old. I am selling the instrument because I recently upgraded to a professional model instrument.

The bassoon has a beautiful, dark sound and has very stable intonation throughout all registers; its low register response is particularly good. It has great personality to its sound and can produce a large variety of tone colors (unlike many student Fox bassoons I've tried).

The bassoon was serviced in 2005 by Fox, and serviced in 2008 by Jim Laslie in Indianapolis. It has the standard Fox 240 keywork with the addition of a right hand rotary whisper lock. Its overall condition is very good, considering its age and use, and has the normal signs of use (dings, scratches). There is a noticeable gouge in the wood by the body lock, where a previous owner had damaged the body lock. None of these cosmetic problems affect its playing.
