Description: Cello - German Cello, Circa 1900, For Sale
There are no pictures available for this cello
This German cello is full-size and modeled after Stradivarius. It has its original varnish. The inside label reads, “Joanne Paul Schorn H.F. Muficus Lauten und Geigenmacher in Salzburg anno 1716.” We have been told it is probably from around 1900. It is a beautiful instrument with a focused and extremely expressive sound -- much like that of a very rare and fine older instrument costing 10 times as much. If your primary consideration is how an instrument sounds and plays and you are not overly impressed with maker names, then you need to consider this exquisite-sounding cello. It has served as the main instrument of the current owner, a professional cellist, for the last ten years for both symphonic and chamber music work. It is a very easy instrument to play and its beauty is clearly apparent from the accompanying pictures. We have it priced at $19,800 for a quick sale.
The cello is located in Monterey, CA (on the California coast, about 120 miles south of San Francisco and 350 miles north of Los Angeles). If you are within driving reach of this location and are looking for a very fine instrument priced way below fair market value, please contact us to set up an appointment. . Tel. 888 363 1732.
