Description: Cello - NEW PRICE! 4/4 Glaesel Stradivarius Cello, w/ New Knoll Wood Bow
Great deal on a full-size (4/4) handmade Glaesel Stradivarius labeled 1719 reproduction cello with lovely full-bodied sound. Body is spruce and maple, with solid maple neck and scroll. The cello has rich light red varnish with ebony fingerboard and pegs, good bridge, tailpiece, 4 fine tuners, metal stand w/ stop, mute, humidifer, extra strings, dark rosin, & soft case. Cello was made in 1983 and I have owned it for 16 years. I played throughout school and college, but at 28 I no longer have time to play. Being 20 years old, the cello has some nicks around the edges, but the sound has always been wonderful. Since I last played, cello has been carefully stored with humidifer to avoid seam cracks. (Email for additional photos.)
Comes with new Knöll wood bow--German round stick, horsehair, ebony frog with abalone eye. Bow was a gift and has not been played.
(Cello model CE44EC no longer made by Glaesel but can now be purchased new from BrookMays.com for $1660; originally retailed new for $1500-1700. Knoll wood bow retails new for approx. $200.)
NOT a cheaply made starter cello--the discriminating player will love its sound, and the student can grow into this one.
