Description: Clarinet - Honduran ROSEWOOD LeBlanc OPUS!!!
The Leblanc Opus clarinet may be the finest production clarinet in existence, and this is a particularly special specimen. In the year 2000, Leblanc decided to manufacture the Opus in Honduran rosewood in addition to the usual grenadilla. The weight of the instrument is significantly less than a grenadilla clarinet, easing wrist tensions, and the tone is unbelievably smooth and rich. (As one expects from a top-level Leblanc clarinet, of course!) There were very, very few of these models made with the Opus branding, as the model name was changed to Symphonie VII very shortly after release. Most of the rosewood Opus clarinets were made for professional clarinetists as custom orders.
It's just been completely overhauled, including an oil treatment of the wood, hand-polishing of the mechanism, and a custom repad including hand-beveled cork pads on the upper joint and the top two keys of the lower joint. Price is negotiable.
