Description: Clarinet - Vintage Conn Rosewood Clarinet BEAUTIFUL COLOR!
This is a gorgeous antique 1949 C. G. Conn Pan American Rosewood Bb Clarinet in very good condition. This instrument has a unique wood laminating process. Instead of a laminate sheet on the top, the whole thing is layered with sheet upon sheet of wood laminate. Although the wood is rosewood color, there are questions as to the type of wood that was actually used in the process. This gives the classic wood sound, without wood cracking cares. When this Clarinet was produced, Conn issued a lifetime warrantee against cracking.
It is in beautiful condition. It does need pads and probaby some cork adustments. I don't play, but I can get the bottom 2 octaves out. I can't tell if the top octave problem is me or the clarinet, but regardless, it needs pads. The keys have a bit of nickel plate wear, not very noticeable, and some of the tarnish clears up with a good polishing.
It comes with its original mouthpiece, ligature and cap, and an Artley case in good condition.
