The instrument was exposed at several double-bass-meetings and exhibitions and always
convinces with its outstanding sound. Length of floating string: D-Mensur- 101,5cm.
It is very easy to play and has a long sustain.
I would like to precise on the fantastic sound qualities.
Even well known Double-Bass-Players and Teachers from all nations appreciated the instrument a lot.
The origin of this Double-Bass was never doubted by violin-makers, experts or Double-Bass-Players.
The belly is made of spruce, the back is poplar, the ribs are made of cedar.
The lower rib is made of one piece (unjoint!), but partially restored.
The original piece is still kept with the instrument.
The Double-Bass doesn’t either have belly-or back-sound-post-cracks!!!
Parts of the ribs needed heavy restauration.
The instrument is neck-crafted and changed from an originally 3-stringed,
to a 4-stringed instrument. The instrument is in good condition and ready to play.
