Description: Double Bass (Contrabass) - Leroy Geiger, Chicago, 1937

Fine quality, meticulously hand crafted, great all around bass for orchestra(lyrical, refined tone) and jazz in great condition--very well maintained. Beautiful workmanship throughout. Flamed back and neck. French tuners. Viol corners, extremely easy to play, and with accurate intonation. Powerful bottom. Leroy Geiger worked with Hornsteiner and wrote a book on the art of violin making. This bass bears the original label. It is a unique, one of a kind instrument. Has been used in the Carmel Bach Festival and many fine orchestras in the San Francisco area.
