Double Bass (Contrabass) for sale - Kolstein Amati Copy Doublebass

Kolstein Amati copy Bass Violin made expressively for Kolstein & Son by Eastman strings in Massachusetts. (Bass finished in the Kolstein shop and inside label is Kolstein and Son) The bass is a ¾ size, gamba shaped, round back model. The top is constructed of a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce. The back is a two-piece plate of flamed maple and the ribs are of flamed maple matching the back. The bass has been expertly maintained by Fegley’s violin shop in Reading, PA and is in excellent condition. The bass is clear and responsive with a bow. The bass was purchased new in 1999 and has been used continuously for classical studies during my college career as well as professionally with the Altoona Symphony, Reading Pops Orchestra, the Center County Chamber Chorale and other regional orchestras. The bass is located outside of Philadelphia, PA and shipping is available at the purchaser’s expense and coordination. Pictures are available by email upon request.
