For Sale: New Standard Cleveland Hybrid by Arnold Schnitzer and Wil DaSola.

This is a marvelous instrument for jazz, with a loud, deep, punchy sound. Last winter I was on a gig and the leader came up to me to tell me how great the bass sounded, and all I was doing at the time was tuning!

What is even better is that it produces optimum sound with a string height of only 5-6mm (G-string), consequently it is very easy to play.

The bass is also suitable for classical playing. I have used it the last two seasons in the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, and with chamber groups as well.

This bass has a 42" string length and an adjustable bridge with aluminum adjusters.

Upper bout: 21
Lower bout: 26
Center bout: 16
Rib depth: 8
Length: 45

The top and ribs are carved, and the slightly rounded back is laminated.

The bass is in pristine condition, no cracks or damage, only slight edge wear from placing the bass on its side.

The bass was built to order for me in the spring of 2004 and purchased 6/20/04.

The price of $6000 includes a Fishman Full Circle pickup and a Mooradian cover.

This is at least a couple hundred dollars less than what you would pay for a new NS bass with a cover and a pickup, so why wait 10-12 weeks when you can have one right now that's been fully broken in, lovingly and often played for three years, and well taken care of.

The bass is located on Cape Cod. I won't ship, but I will meet you to show the bass, as long as it isn't too far.
