Description: Dulcimer - Handmade Maple Mountain Dulcimer
There are no pictures available for this dulcimer
This dulcimer's parts were cut from one maple board with the exception of the soundboard, which is western red cedar, and the mahogany nut and bridge. The stain visible on the side of the soundbox is a natural feature of the piece of wood I used, and there is a similar one on the other side. I chose the maple also because of the distinctive patterns in it's grain. The dulcimer has four strings, with geared tuners in a slotted peghead, and uses standard guitar strings. The fingerboard is hollowed from the bottom for greater resonance. Overall dimensions: length 34', width 5 '' height 3 1/8'. Other photos are available via email if you are interested. Thanks for looking.
