Description: Electric Guitar - Fender Custom Shop RB Classic Jazz Bass MINT #5 of 10
This jazz bass is truly a rare find. In this auction is a Fender Custom Shop Jazz bass numbered 5 out of 10 in excellent condition, it's a 10 out of 10. RB stands for Richard Briere. Mr. Briere was a top notch salesman for Fender Musical Instruments before he retired a few years ago. There were only 10 of these basses in this series and legend has it that most ended up in Germany for some reason. I am the 2nd owner. The original owner claims to have played it only a few times, I have never played it. It's too beautiful, if you win the auction/hit the reserve you will understand. The finish is sienna burst nitrocellulose lacquer and weighs 9 pounds 7 ounces. It has reverse vintage tuners, custom wound pickups, a beautiful ash body and a quarter sawn maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. The neck is slim and fast with a very cool dark brown piece of grain running from the base of the neck to around the seventh fret. There are a couple of small blemishes on the case that I included in my pictures. These cases are still available however. These basses are a solid investment. Included in the auction are all of the case candy, certificate of authenticity and leather strap completely unused. My shipping is a flat rate $80 to the lower continential U.S, $100 to Alaska and Hawaii and $200 international. All shipping prices include insurance and bass will be professionally packed at a music store. International bidders, different countries have different treaties with the US Postal Service. Some countries have a limit on insurance. I recently sent a bass to Switzerland which has a much lower limit than the bass value. If you live in such a country I will insure the bass for the maximum amount possible unless you chose to pay extra for EMS Express shipping which let's me insure at a higher price. Also, do not ask me to lowball on the customs form, I will declare the full auction value. Happy Bidding!!
