This vintage 1951 Fender Esquire guitar is in good condition and represents a nice early example of one the guitars that ignited the electric guitar revolution. Other than the refin the body is in good shape, there are a couple areas of small dings near the lower portion of the body and the edges. There is also a stain on the left shoulder. The neck is nice and straight but does have a crack on the bottom of the neck that runs from the screw hole on the bottom of the neck up into about the 12th fret. The crack does not appear to be severe and the guitar definitely is still functional. Other than that the neck is clean with just a few small dings and dents. The tuners are original Kluson Deluxes but they do have some light corrosion. The spahgetti logo decal is in great shape. Nut appears to be original. The fretboard is clean with just a few light areas of wear, the frets appear to be original and have about 50% wear. The neck is stamped 2-5-51 with what looks to be the initials "LG".The electronics are original including the pots, 3 way switch and pickup. The 3 way switch has "229516 & 229517 MADE IN USA". I wasn't able to see any numbers on the pots. The electronics do work and sound good. All hardware screws are slothead including the truss rod adjuster. The original black pickguard is in good shape with no cracks and only some light wear on the left portion. The width at the nut is 1 5/8" inches. The action at the 12th low E is 1/8th of an inch. The guitar comes with a soft gig bag.Interested buyer can contact me for more photos.
