GIBSON CITATION Acoustic Electric Archtop Jazz Guitar * Mint Museum Masterpiece *
Since its introduction in 1969, the Citation has been at the top of Gibson's magnificent line of Acoustic Electric Archtop Jazz Guitars. The guitar had a 17" full depth body, a floating pickup, sleek fancy inlays, were made in natural or sunburst colors, and only about 8 to 10 Citation guitars were shipped during this period. Production ended in 1971. However, due to its popularity, in 1979, Gibson reintroduced the reissue of the 1969 - 71 model with the same specs and features. These reissues were produced through 1983. From 1993 to present, Gibson debuted a 3rd reissue of the classic Citation and is now part of Gibson's Historic Collection. From 1994 until present, Gibson makes the Citation only on special orders. The Gibson Citation is the finest handmade carved guitars made by Gibson.
