French Horn - HOLTON H188 Professional "Farkas" Double French Horn

This horn is in excellent condition and retails new from $3,299 (discounted) to $5,000 (MSRP). In my opinion, this horn is superior to the H178/179 even though they retail for the same price. I think the sound from this horn is much richer!

I just had it ultrasonically cleaned and flushed. There are some minor scratches and signs of wear, but as you can see from the pictures, it still shines like brand new. The only defects to note are some scraching on the back where a dent was removed and some discoloration where the pinky rest was repositioned. The bell is in remarkable shape! The horn includes the original woodshell case and (like new) Holton mouthpiece along with a (used) Stork mouthpiece.

Model H188 features mouthpipe, branch, and bell tapers of an all-new design. It offers the largest open-throated bell made by Holton, giving it a full, sonorous sound with rich depth that maintains its core and tone at any volume. It has been compared to the old 8D style horn. Players looking for a horn capable of great tonal volume need look no further. H188 is designed to be very responsive and free-blowing with excellent tonal balance.
