13th century lute/guitar based loosely upon illuminations from the Cantigas de Santa Maria. Handmade in Ashland, Oregon, by luthier Jacob Mariani, this instrument is a functioning prototype that sustained damage, and has sub-perfect outline symmetry. The original bridge cracked the top in two places, and was replaced by a lower-profile floating bridge. The cracks are now stable, but there is still a bit of sinkage in the top.
