A good Neopolitian mandolin, by Umberto Ceccherini- labelled. Dark exotic wood ribs, smooth, all in very good condition, no cracks etc. Neck fine, head fine, with additional applied metal decoration, with side /rear mounted separate enclosed tuners, all buttons present, all working.New strings. Action perfect. Table: a few old repaired cracks, not many, not sagging, or collapsing in any way, plays really well, loud, clear. Scratchplate of imitation natural material, inlayed with possibly silver floral inlay decoration, and this is the rare tropical model ie has in addition to paper strengthening, this has wood battens across back, all screwed in, all original- ditto round top- all inlays intact, and one last UNIQUE feature- this mandolin has a secondary internal soundboard, making it really powerful and loud- I believe this to be a rare and sought after feature-all set up, ready to play- comes with original case.
