Description: Microphone for sale - Vintage Neumann KM83i Omni Pair
There are no pictures available for this microphone
I am selling a pair of vintage Neumann KM83i omni condenser mics for my church here in Wisconsin. I am an audio engineer, and my church has no use for anything THIS good in our current setup - it would be better off in the hands of someone who would know how to better utilize it, say a proffesional studio or someone really into live or remote/classical recording. Included is a new Pelican shockproof, moisture-proof, foam case and 2 new clips. These mics have recently been inspected, cleaned, and tested.
The serial numbers on the KM83i omni's are #10,779 and 10,781 - I have corresponded with Neumann and they have confirmed that the manufacture date was May of 1971. I am not sure if these are a matched pair. I have used them on classical and choral recording projects, and they sound amazing, probably more amazing if used through a nicer mic pre!
The newer version of the KM83's, the KM183's, are selling on for around $17-$1800 right now. Keeping in mind the vintage nature of these mics, but also keeping in mind some of the cosmetic defects (ie. missing badges, some cosmetic wear) our church would like to see $2000 for the pair. There is, however, some room to haggle and negotiate, since the proceeds of the sale will, in turn, benefit our A/V Ministry Fund.
NetInstruments will not let me link to my Flickr dot com page, but my FLickr dot com handle is "bmthompson". If you do a search there at the Flickr homepage for KM83i, you will go to my photostream/my KM83i set of photos. These are some hi-res images of the microphones.
