Description: Oboe - Beautiful Mirafone Wood Oboe - Hans Kreul - Very Nice!
There are no pictures available for this oboe
Up for sale is a lovely Mirafone Oboe, hand-made by Hans Kreul of West Germany in the 1970s. This oboe is made out of tight ebony wood (no loose grain, like many oboes you see today), and is free from any cracks. The craftmanship of this oboe compares to that of many high end french oboes, and produces a lovely dark sound that makes this oboe desirable to both intermediate and advanced players. Within the past couple of years, the oboe has been overhauled (cleaned and repadded) and put in optimal playing condition. The pads are all good, and keywork is 100% functioning. The corks are also good. You do not hear much about this brand, however, do not let that deter you. Hans-Kreul manufactored many hand-made oboes, which were marketed in the United States under various brand names up until recently. The heavy silver plating on this instrument is still in good condition, showing minimal wear due to age. I took this oboe to a local music store, and they valued this oboe in excess of $1500.00. This is your chance to get amazing german craftsmanship on a budget! You will not find another Mirafone in this condition for this price!!! Please take a look at the pictures below, and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
