Organ Location: Buffalo, NY, USA
Description: Organ for sale - 1920s Tellers-Kent/1979 Delaware
Up for sale is a 7-rank Tellers Kent pipe organ. The original origin is unknown, but judging by the facade it was built in the turn of the century. Originally a tracker organ, this instrument was changed to EM sometime later by Tellers with a new console fitted. The organ was then rebuilt with new chests and other updates in 1979 by the Delaware Organ Co of Tonawanda, NY. Organ is from St. James RC church in Buffalo.
Instrument was disassembled and packed in June of 2012. Facade pipes are wrapped in protective covering very suitable for shipping. It originally was purchased to reinstall in another location but it did not fit the final dimensions of the new space. Hence we're just looking to get back most of what we have into it. It is a beautiful facade and the guts are very overbuilt because of the original tracker action configuration.
Blower is 1930's vintage but very strong running. Not too bad to move with a few guys. 110v, 3/4 hp. The whole instrument will fit into a standard 24-26' box truck. We have people here that would be happy to package the truck for you for $300
We are taking a slight loss on this, again just want it to go to a good home. Organ is about 18' wide, 7 feet deep, and 12 feet high. The side two sections of facade pipes are dummies, while the middle 17 are speaking. The depth could be reduced be a few feet for sure. There was a lot of empty space back there.
The resources are as follows:
II Mixture (independent, 3 octaves)
8' Flute (16 ext.)
Please call me, Bob Hull, 716 471 1256 with any questions. Organ is located 10 miles North of Buffalo in the city of Tonawanda, NY. Organ was fully functional before removing. There is room for expansion, as the great and swell have an extra stop tab and the relays can take another 4 ranks on each division. Would be easy to add a celeste, which is what i was going to do. Wiring is all marked and should be a straight-forward job. Again, thanks for looking and hope you consider this beautiful instrument for your needs.
