Description: Ethnic Instrument - Professional Sitar by Rikhi Ram
I have in my possession a very fine concert-quality sitar by Rikhi Ram of New Delhi, 1992. This instrument was purchased new from the maker and has been played very little; it is in perfect condition having been stored under climate-controlled conditions. It is made from well-aged Tun wood and is richly decorated with very elaborate carvings and inlay. The setup of the action and jawari is in the Ravi Shankar style. The jawari is intact as it left the maker's hands and plays evenly from top to bottom. My price for this instrument is $1,500 which includes a British-made hard-shell case trimmed in leather. This same model of sitar now costs $2,100 plus shipping so my asking price is quite a savings!
I am located in Stonington, CT which is a reasonable drive from both New York City and Boston. However, expert packing and shipping can be arranged if necessary. I will sell to parties only within the U.S.A and Canada!
I have several more detailed photographs of the sitar, which are in JPEG format. I would be happy to e-mail these photographs to interested parties individually or in a ZIP file. I can also print them out in high-resolution colour and send them via snail mail for those who don't have access to a computer.
