Description: Piano - SG 172 5' 7
5’7” Grand Piano (Approx 650lbs)
Samick SG 172. Selling ONLY because I need the space! I purchased this instrument new in 1997, then had Richard Ruggero (of Raleigh NC) fit superior quality european Abel ‘Encore’ hammers and fully regulate it. (See the picture of the fine action which includes premium features such as buckskin knuckles and extruded aluminum flange rail with hardwood damping core - unusual at this price point.) The replacement hammers and regulation enable this instrument to achieve the performance intrinsic to its' excellent fundamental design and construction. The hammers and regulation are the weaknesses of the Samick small grand compared to a Yamaha. I feel that the underlying quality and construction is superior to that of the Kawai or Yamaha small grands. A superb instrument well suited for Church, recital, the home or as a teaching and practice instrument for serious musicians. Comes with Damp Chaser humidity control system (drier bars and humidifier).
