There are no pictures available for this saxophone
Hello: I inherited this saxophone.
Serial Number 105490 indicates a 1932 vintage. It has its original nickel silver plate with a gold overlayed wash bell.
Beautiful Mother of Pearls on every key.
The Saxophone Specialist said they have a glorious sound that is dark and big and the pearl keys are very easy to get used to and are right there where you would expect them to be.
It comes with its original black leather case that still locks and is in fair shape considering its age of 73 years young.
The Martin Company was a company who was not afraid of trying new things.
Many of their models were downright peculiar.
Martin changed models frequently until they settled on "The Martin __", where the blank is soprano, alto, baritone or tenor.
This a Rare Martin saxophone as it has a stenciled eagle on the bell, and only so many were stenciled by their manufacturers.
The ton holes are thick walled and have a beveled edge to them where the pad meets the hole.
This is the true Martin characteristic.
This saxophone comes complete with original leather case, neck, reed and accessories.
This a beautiful old, rare horn.
The Grand Rapids Band Instrument Company had instruments made by many of the Top Makers and had their name put on the instrument, as I have photographed.
