Description: Saxophone - EXTREMELY GOOD CONDITION MARK VI ALTO SAX/SAXOPHONE
There are no pictures available for this saxophone
This Mark VI alto has 99.9% of its original lacquer. It has 100% original pads. If you know what you are looking for, you will see, on the edges of the pads, the original lacquer overspray from the Selmer factory (indicating the horn has never been worked on). Neck and body have matching serial numbers of 114XXX. I won't bore you with all of the sales hype about how warm, centered, focused, blah blah blah this horn is. If you are a collector or know about horns, you know what this horn is, and that is all you need to say about how it plays- it plays great in all registers, even with its original pads. It still has a "pop" to the pads, and plays just that way. It obviously wasnít played much before being put away and forgotten about. I can mostly see a collector buying this horn, but a player could easily use it as well because itís a killer horn. I have altered nothing on it, because collectors donít want horns without original pads.
The case is near mint, inside and out. The zipper works perfectly. All of the original latches on the compartment doors work. If the horn has any flaws to mention, it would be a bunch of scratches around the neck strap loop from the original owner using a metal neck strap (apparently no one thought these horns would be so valuable to collectors one day). This area is shown in the pictures. There is about 30% of the lacquer missing from the touch area of the octave key, about 30% on the middle right palm key, and most of the lacquer under the thumb hook is gone. Other than that, it is 100%, with almost no spotting, even inside the bell. All of the left palm keys and the spatula are even pretty much 100% lacquer. There are various tiny spots where lacquer had been scratched here and there, but these are pretty much minor and relatively unnoticeable.
