Description: Saxophone - King Super 20 alto saxophone - SN 382,XXX Cleveland-made sax - Silver neck

King Super 20 alto saxophone, SN# 382,XXX from early 1960s, Cleveland-OH made in excellent condition; Original lacquer 95+%; With renown, original double socket, solid silver neck and under-slung octave key (to my experience, the double socket neck Super 20s respond better than single socket horns!); well sealing pads with metal resonator in very good condition; Horn is ready to play; No re-soldered joints or trauma; Horn has no repairs but some light scratches on body side of bell, and tiny dings (3-5mm) on bottom bow from use on my regular R&B gigs and recordings; This professional horn replaced my vintage Selmer Paris because of its dynamic range; horn has excellent intonation with – for example – an open hard rubber Berg Larson mpc. Typical, spontaneous, fat response at low notes. That horn has balls - but can sing, too. Need to sell.
Horn comes in original Alligator case with vintage Brilhart Hard Rubber #4 (professionally opened up to like a 5) or Otto Link #5 “Tone Edge” hard rubber mouthpiece – your choice! For serious interestees, I’ll play the Super 20 over the phone after you contact me with your tel#.
As a value guide, see e-bay item #2533130836 (Super 20 alto sold for $3,100.- in June 2003). I can verify positive ebay reputation. Thanks for looking! It’s a good horn! Return option to be discussed. Call (847) 646-2490. Can send more pictures.
