Description: Saxophone - Selmer Super Balanced Action Tenor Saxophone - Original Silver Plate
Selmer Super Balanced Action Tenor Saxophone – 1952 – 49xxx – silver-plated with original neck!
This horn has about 98% of the original silver plate left. Fantastic horn. The rods are tight as well as the action. Very hard to find sax of this vintage and this condition, especially with the original silver plate! This is a European super balanced action which means there is no floral engraving on the bell and bow. Also, the original neck does not have a serial number since it was assembled in Europe. Horns that were asembled in the USA were fully engraved and a serial number was put on the neck. Needs nothing and is gig ready. The sax has the classic Selmer SBA sound and feel!
The side F# guard and low C guard have been resoldered. Also, some dents have been taken out of the bell and bow. There are two small dings in the neck but are not big enough to affect anything. There are small scratches throughout, just from normal use over the past 50 years. The horn has been checked by a repairman and is ready to go.
