Description: Tuba - Silver Meinl Weston 45slp 6/4 F Tuba
Hello all, I'm posting this for a friend !!
''I am selling my Silver 45slp. Its in good cosmetic condition.
Has a couple purely cosmetic scratches that do not go
through the finish. I'm looking over it now, and I cant find any dents
or dings. This tuba has not had any major or other repairs. I have had some
custom work done to it since I've had it.
-Lead pipe has been raised from the bell and has one brace securing it(pictured below)
-All 4 pistons are vented
-1st slide is lapped and has a slide stop installed(pictured below)
-Valves are aligned and have synthetic pads(pictured below)
-Comes with a gig bag
The horn has a nice even sound throughout all registers.
It is VERY easy to play. I played the Plog 3 miniatures on it recently and it was
a breeze to just blow and push valves on all the slurred passages in
the 1st and 3rd movements! I have especially enjoyed this horn in
quintet and solo playing.
The reason I am selling is because my contrabass tuba is a 4/4+ and
this 6/4 F sounds too similar to it. I am looking for a wider range
of color in my arsenal. If I could keep the MW and get a German rotary
horn, I would totally do that. But alas, I am but a broke musician and cannot afford to do that.
This is a fine example of this type of tuba and of this particular
model as well. I would like to get somewhere in the neighborhood of
$6,500 OBO for it.
Thanks for looking,
