Description: Violin - 19th CENTURY ITALIAN VIOLIN LABELED "ROSSI EMILIO"

There are no pictures available for this violin

This is an italian violin from the 19th century. It has an estimate from Christies for $6000 to $8000 in as is condition. The label inside reads Rossi Emilio - Liutaio/Premiato con Medaglia d'Oro/Tecnico per riparazioni/a strumenti a corda/Piacenza - via Castello, 16 - Piacenzia. This violin literally came on a boat from Italy about 50 years ago... My wife and I bought this violin from an italian family in NY a few years ago as an investment. They in turn, had it in their family for more than one generation. The violin needs some adjustment and accessories to be in playable condition. I just bought a new very expensive cello for myself and have to sell almost everything I own, and very quickly to pay it off. So this might be a steal for some lucky buyer...
