E. R. Pfretschner Full Size Violin. Inside tags read E. R. Pfretschner, Mittenwald OBB, handmade copy of Antonius Stradivarius. Other tag reads Scherl and Roth, Genuine Reproduction of Antonius Stradivarius, Made in Germany, adjusted in Elkhart, IN USA, A product of UMI, model no. R301E4, serial no. 438750.I looked this up in a 2001 UMI catalog and it says it is a prelude series 4/4 size, carved spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, detailed tonal work, ebony trim, steel strings with adjusters. Shaded brown varnish with reddish-gold accents. Comes in thermoplastic hardshell case with aluminum valance. Has holder for 2 bows. Case is also in nearly perfect condition.
Bow is Glasser and I believe it is horsehair and original to the violin. It is in excellent condition.
The violin is in excellent condition. There are very few scratches and those are very minor. There are no cracks. Violin sounds wonderful and is ready to be played. Comes with UMI Rosin. Includes Gina's Flutes polishing cloth.
