A very fine ENGLISH BAROQUE violin by BENJAMIN BANKS, made in 1773 as the label indicates. The violin bears is original label and inside Banks penciled with ink "BANKS made in 1773" on the top near the bass f hole. The violin will come with a certificate by FRED OSTER, in Philadelphia, stating that this is an original Banks violin with the exception of the scroll, which is a later 19th century English replacement. The violin is in excellent condition. It is set up as a baroque violin. It has a very beautiful and sweet sound and is ideal for a professional baroque violonist.
