New Instrument
The back is made from very old European two piece maple with a medium flame.
The belly is made from two piece fine grained Swiss pine.
The neck and ribs are matched.
A brown/red oil varnish with a softer transparency and average flame depth with golden undertones creating an overall amber tint.
The chin rest is handmade from maple and lacquered black.
Beautifully made and in a class of its own. This violin is exceptionally responsive throughout its range. It is very powerful and plays upper positions with ease.
Professional concert hall instrument.
After being played by a young concert violinist from the States she commented that she had never seen so many marvellous violins together at one time. (Nos 40 - 45, especially No. 43.)
