Description: Banjo - 1976 GTR Japan Masterclone Florentine Banjo by Iida w/ Case

There are no pictures available for this banjo

1976 GTR Florentine banjo with original hard case. Banjo is in great shape, frets are in really good shape. Nice headstock inlay. The only wear to note is some dings on the back of the neck, the worst being right next to the high string tuner. The banjo has an electronic pickup installed inside the body. One string popped just before I took the pictures. Included is a set of Martin strings. Excellent rare banjo that was very comparable to the Gibson Banjos produced in that era. Average prices of this is a little higher but I am eager to sell. Will ship through FedEx with full insurance and tracking. PayPal payment. Please see the pics for all the details. Text me at 9566074453 if interested in making an offer or have an y general questions about the banjo. I have many more pics at the url provided.

From banjobuyer dot com
"GTR - Japanese masterclone: first offered in 1974 they were sold through approximately 1978. They were made for GTR by Iida. GTR stands for George Gruhn, Tut Taylor and Randy Wood, three dealers/ builders in the Nashville scene in the mid 70's. They were available in one finish only, dark mahogany, with 2 piece flange and flat head tone ring. There were "a few hundred" of them made, but Gruhn has said he doesn't remember exactly how many."

The models/inlays available were:

* #1 (H&F, fiddle peghead),
* #2 (Florentine Special, fiddle),
* #3 (Wreath, fiddle),
* #4 (Reno, double cut)
