The Vibrato Flugelhorn
New Vibrato Bb Flugelhorn with 6" Rose Brass bell (and full branch) for that classic flugelhorn sound. Rose Brass, sometimes called Gold Brass, has a much higher copper content than ordinary yellow brass, 85% copper and 15% nickel and it's a combination of this, the design and the mouthpieces (there are two) that gives the Vibrato flugelhorn its complex dark, round, mellow sound.
Vibrato flugelhorns are hand made and the quality of workmanship and finish is second-to-none. It would be difficult, if not impossible to find better valves in any horn at any price. Vibrato valves are probably the quietest you'll find. You'll barely hear them, even during quiet passages of play. They are lightning fast and beautifully finished.
Please note that unlike many horns sold on eBay, our valves are made from solid Monel. Please note that Monel valves (or pistons) are always used in the world's top professional and therefore most expensive flugelhorns. Monel is used in these horns because it is highly resistant to corrosion and acids and is extremely hard therefore it resists wear and, with care, can last a lifetime. It can also be machined to extremely fine tolerances for a perfect fit inside the valve casings.
The flugelhorn has a smooth-action trigger on the 3rd valve which is a pleasure to use. The leadpipe is also adjustable for tuning.
Playability is excellent. The horn slots extremely well and sounds like a flugelhorn should in all registers and plays in tune. Another thing that appeals is that it is easy to play in the high register. This is often mentioned as being a problem with many well know flugelhorns, but not so with Vibrato.
The Vibrato flugelhorn has 3 traditional water keys, 2 mouthpieces � a Vibrato deep-cup mouthpiece plus a bonus genuine Denis Wick 4FL mouthpiece (see below) and a quality case with plenty of space for music in the separate zip-up pocket. It also comes with a cleaning cloth.
